After return of security … Arbin’s carpentry workshops back to their activities, production arrives all provinces

Damascus Countryside, SANA-For so many years, Arbin city has been related to carpentry handicrafts and manufacturing the furniture been later affected by the presence of terrorists , but after restoring the safety and security to it, the craftsmen gradually reactivated this handicrafts and brought their workshops back to the degree that their products reach again the Syrians’ houses in all provinces.

Carpentry has developed from a manual handcraft to a semi-manual profession after the huge machines entered the manufacturing process, but the artistic touch of the craftsman and their own fingerprints remained the basis according to what some craftsmen said to SANA.

Craftman ,Hassan Abdul Fattah, said that Arbin includes a big number of professional craftsmen who are capable of promoting and developing this old craft and meet the local market needs of furniture which result in giving up the imported ones, in case of increasing the support for this manufacture.

In turn, Shaher Kouka, who returned to Arbin immediately after liberating it and started to rehabilitate his workshop and expanded it gradually from one workshop to three ones, clarified that he produces all kinds of furniture and managed to develop it in a way that match the modern styles demanded by the costumers, referring that Arbin’s workshops are featured with its feasible prices and high-quality production.

“I haven’t left Arbin at all and my happiness is so big when I see the work is reactivated after bringing the security back,” craftsman Mohammed Abu Yassine al-Kahalla said ,referring that the production of this town of furniture reaches all Syrian cities.

Craftsman Mohammed Abdul Hai, said that manufacturing the Damascene Mosaic in Arbin has a different story ,referring that this majestic craft ,linked to Damascus for tens of years, moved to the countryside 60 years ago with many craftsmen got creative in it.
