Culture Ministry inaugurates music institution, library , gallery, club for children in Homs

Ministry of Culture inaugurated Thursday ” Mohammad Abdul-Kareem” institution for music, gallery for paintings of children who won the Ministry’s competition for the year 2013, a club in al-Shammas neighborhood and a library at Hussein Jarad makeshift center in Homs.

After the inauguration ceremony, Minister of Culture Lubanah Mshaweh said that the Ministry started preparing initial studies to begin the rehabilitation process at Khalid Ibin al-Walid Mosque, adding that emergency plan of Krak des Chevaliers castle was achieved and the work is underway to repair Um al-Zounar (Mother of the belt)and al-Arba’aeen Churches.

The Minister, while visiting Khalid Ibin al-Walid Mosque, al-Zahrawi Palace, Um al-Zounar and al-Arba’aeen Churches, Krak des Chevaliers castle and the national museum, affirmed that all the aforementioned sites are able to be repaired but they need huge amounts of money.

Mshaweh called for launching literacy courses to the residents of “Hussein Jarad” makeshift center.
