Moscow: Turkish aggression on border areas in Syria, Iraq escalate tension

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Ministry affirmed on Wednesday that the Turkish aggression on border areas in Syria and Iraq escalate tension in the region, calling on all sides to have “self-restraint” and focus on combating terrorism.

“During conditions of war against terrorism in Syria and Iraq, those behaviors don’t help gather efforts aiming at fighting terrorism, but they increase tension,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

It added that what stirs concern is that the Turkish airstrikes targeted the territories of two sovereign countries, stressing such operations are unacceptable.
