Venezuela renews its desire to join BRICS

Caracas, SANA- Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto expressed his country’s aspiration to join the BRICS, which is making great and responsible efforts to build a new world order.

“On behalf of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, thank you for inviting us to act as friends of BRICS today. We consider it an opportunity to declare Venezuela’s will to join this important bloc, which is making great efforts to create a new world order based on the desire for the well-being of our peoples,” RT quoted Pinto as saying during talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of BRICS foreign ministers meeting in Nizhny Novgorod.

On Monday, Lavrov stated that the number of those wishing to cooperate with BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is growing steadily.
