Health Minister meets Italian delegation

Damascus, SANA-Health Minister Nizar Yazigi affirmed on Sunday the importance of lifting the unilateral conceive economic sanctions imposed on Syrian people, particularly the health sector.

Meeting members of an Italian visiting delegation, the minister briefed them on the damages that have affected the health establishments in all Syrian provinces by attacks of terrorist organizations for more than six years and the difficulties facing the health sector in terms of securing some special medicines, medical equipment and spare parts needed for the continuity of the provision of health services to citizens in the required way.

He added that the Ministry continues to provide health services to citizens for free and is working in accordance with specific programs to deliver vaccines and medicines to all areas.
For their part, members of the delegation considered that the sanctions against Syria and the unjust economic measures are an international terrorism.

They expressed their readiness to contribute to providing medical aid and medicines according to the possibilities and available means in order to alleviate the suffering of the Syrians.

They also expressed their determination to convey the true image of what is really going on in the country.
