Initiative to collect used clothes and distribute them to needy families

Homs, SANA – A community initiative named “No to Cold” was recently launched by Aoun project for relief and development and the Islamic Charitable Society in Homs, which aimed at collecting used clothes, recycling and distributing them to the needy people.

Head of the society Rasmi al-Saraj said that the initiative is still ongoing and is working on collecting the used clothes, cleaning them mending them, then turning them into usable things to wear, adding that the Society’s department of hand-made art repurposed children’s clothes.

A number of volunteers expressed their happiness to participate in the initiative which meant to help the needy families in winter through passing out clothes that keep them warm and give the families an opportunity to address their critical and basic needs.
