Indian Embassy in Damascus holds reception marking Gandhi’s birthday

Damascus, SANA- The Indian Embassy in Damascus on Wednesday held a reception ceremony marking the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at the Damascus-based  Dama Rose Hotel.

In a speech at the ceremony, Indian Ambassador in Damascus Hifzur Rahman said that Gandhi is a symbol of amity, peace, charity and humanity as he led the battle of India’s independence in the face of the British occupation.

The Ambassador stressed that the essence of Gandhi’s rules is that the principle of power is to get rid of fears.
