Al-Jaafari: Security Council should force states which support terrorism in Syria to stop this support

New York, SANA-Syria’s permanent representative to the UN, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, called on UN Security council to oblige the states that support terrorism in Syria to stop this support and to back the Syrian state’s efforts in combating terrorism in order to complete the reconstruction process.

“The Turkish regime didn’t stop at violating its obligations according to the understandings of Astana, Sochi and Moscow, and supporting the terrorist organizations, but it reinforced its illegitimate military presence on the Syrian territories through bringing in convoys loaded with weapons and heavy equipment every day,” al-Jaafari said during a UN Security Council session via video on the situation in Syria.

He added that the Turkish regime has also entered and spread Turkish air defense systems in Idleb and boosted its military forces with US Hawk missiles in a flagrant violation of the rules of the international law.

Al-Jaafari called on the UN to support the Syrian State’s efforts to complete the reconstruction process, root up terrorist organizations and realize the political solution through a Syrian leadership without any foreign intervention.

He stressed that Syria is determined to adhere to its sovereignty and territorial integrity and will not abandon its firm stance to liberate its occupied territories whether the occupier was American, Turkish, Israeli or the terrorist organizations.

Al-Jaafari added that any presence of military foreign troops on Syrian territories without the approval of the Syrian government is an aggression and occupation.
