Syria, Armenia to enhance parliamentary relations

Damascus, SANA- Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, affirmed the importance of deepening the Syrian-Armenian parliamentary relations and boosting mutual visits, calling for the development of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries in all fields.

Sabbagh, meeting Dikran Kevorkian, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in Damascus, hailed the distinguished fraternal and friendly ties that connect the Syrian and Armenian peoples for many decades, referring to the long history of suffering and pain that the two friendly peoples suffered from the Ottoman occupation, the latest of which is the ongoing crime committed by the Turkish regime and its mercenaries by cutting off drinking water to Hasaka city and its vicinity.

For his part, the Armenian Ambassador described the Syrian-Armenian relations as “historical, and deeply-rooted, indicating that a delegation of representatives at the National Assembly of Armenia will visit Syria, in addition to the Syrian-Armenian businessmen but that is currently related to the retreat of Corona epidemic and the improvement in the airports’ movement in both countries.
