Syrian Trust for Development brings together 400 children on Olympic Day

Lattakia, SANA-Up to 400 children from across Lattakia province participated in the Olympic Day that was organized by the Syrian Trust for Development in Lattakia province.

The Trust’s activities are primarily focused on the neighborhoods of Qnainas, al-Jumhouriah Street and al-Slaiba, where the activity featured an array of interactive sports activities.

“This is the first time the three societal organizations meet in a single activity,” says Nour Ibrahim, a social organizer at the Trust in an interview with SANA “Tourism and Society” bulletin, indicating that the activity comes on the International Children’s Day and seeks to organize activities that bring together the three societal organizations.

Ibrahim added that the Trust coordinated with the branch of the Sports Union in Lattakia which already has a special Olympic package for children that includes miscellaneous sports including javelin, pole vault, petanque and jumping.

The participant children aged 6-12 years. The activities were divided into two categories; the first being a full Olympic course, while the second centered on allowing full rein to children’s imagination to paint what comes to their minds.

The activity concluded with a 50-meter long painting by participant children
