Temperatures below average, snowfalls expected over mountains

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures will drop to become below average about 2 to 4 degrees in most regions as the country is affected by a low air pressure and accompanied with cold and wet air mass in all layers of the atmosphere.

Meteorology Department expected in its Friday bulletin that the weather will be cloudy and rainy over the  most areas,  heaviest rains  will be over the coastal areas and snowy over mountains  that reach to over 1000 meters and below.

The wind will be southwesterly moderate with active in  speed exceeding 60 km / h over the southern regions and the sea waves will be high in amplitude .

The expected temperatures in some major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 10/5, Daraa 11/5, Homs 7/5, Hasaka 14/4, Tartous 13/9, Aleppo 8/4, Deir Ezzor 17/4.

Rainfalls prevailed the country during the past 24 hours with varying amounts of rains, the heaviest of which were in the coastal province of Hama with 75mm.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform rain bulletin the biggest amounts of rainfall reached to 75 mm in Ain Halakimin Hama province.

The rain bulletin said that the rain amounts in the Syrian provinces were as follows: Damascus and its Countryside 11mm, Sweida 6mm, Quneitra 17mm, Homs 46mm, ,  Tartous 65 mm, Idleb 21 mm and Aleppo 15mm.
