Dance shows depicting Sweida traditions held within Syrian Christmas Festival

Sweida, SANA – Syrian Christmas Festival in the southern province of Sweida continued its activities for the second day.

The festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture, is simultaneously held in various provinces.

Kanatha band for folkloric arts performed a number of dances and singing shows picturing traditions in Jabal al-Arab area.

Head of the band, Saeed Ballan, told SANA reporter that the performances “reflect the Syrian people’s resilience and will to live.”

The festival, he said, is meant to convey a message to the entire world that “Syria has always been and will remain home for love and civilization,”
no matter how harsh the circumstances it is now going through are under the terrorist war waged against it.

The final day of the three-day festival will be capped by a music concert that will be performed by Qassid band.
