Al-Jaafari: The Syrian people are the ones who give legitimacy to national entitlements

Damascus, SANA- Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Bashar al-Jaafari received on Saturday a delegation of researchers, political analysts and prominent media figures in the Russian media outlets , headed by Senior researcher at the Center of Arab and Islamic Studies in the Russian Orientalism Institute ,Professor Boris Dolgov.

Al-Jaafari affirmed the importance of the delegation’s visit to Syria along with several delegations from different parts of the world to keep up with presidential election , indicating that what took place in Syria confirms the independence of the national political decision of the government and the Syrian people and it is a real victory to put an end to the Western ideology hidden by a discriminatory and opportunistic globalization.

Al-Jaafari noted that the Western countries do not believe in true democracy and, for them, the only reference for the elections is the Western reference, adding that the Syrian people are the ones who give legitimacy to the national entitlements, and not those who claim democracy and slogans while practicing the opposite at international level and occupying the lands of others ,and stealing their national capabilities.

Al-Jaafari clarified that the unilateral coercive measures imposed by some Western countries against the Syrian government and people are illegal ,in which used by these countries as a weapon of political pressure.

For their part, members of the delegation affirmed that the elections were held in a democratic atmosphere through massive popular participation in it , considering that this situation forms a new beginning for the development of true democracy, which failed in many Western countries.
