A fisherman dead, material damage to tourism facilities in sea storm on Lattakia

Lattakia, SANA- General Directorate of Ports announced Saturday that a fisherman died as his boat sank in a sea storm that hit Lattakia province last night at Ras Ibn Hani site, while two accompanying comrades have survived.

The storm has caused significant material damage to the camping, tourism and summer facilities on shores of Wadi Qandil and Ras al-Basit areas, according to the directorate.

The directorate added that a number of parking marine boats in Jableh, Baniyas, Tartous ports have been drifted off the port, and the damage was limited to material, meanwhile six sailors were rescued after their boat sank on Lattakia shore.
