Petroleum minister inspects the operating situation in Homs & Baniyas refineries

Damascus, SANA- Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister,Bassam Tu’ma, inspected the work situation  in Homs Refinery and briefed on the procedures for safe operating.

He briefed on the performance tests of Unit 100, which was maintained but not actually tested due to the unavailability of the quantities of crude oil needed for it, and its capacity alone estimated at about 42 thousand barrels per day.

The minister inspected the Baniyas refinery and was also briefed on the rehabilitation of the refinery’s fourth boiler.

This inspection tour comes upon the directives of the Cabinet to the Ministry of Petroleum to take the necessary measures to monitor the work of refineries and their technical equipment during operation.
