Japanese sakura trees planted in Homs

Homs, SANA-A delegation from the Syrian-Japanese Friendship Association planted on Sunday saplings of the Japanese sakura tree in the garden of the Cultural Complex Homs.

The director of the culture in Homs, Hassan al-Labbad, indicated that sakura trees were planted in different regions in Syria in 2010 because this tree bears a distinctive symbol for the Japanese people and culture.

Planting this tree in a number of Syrian cities expresses mutual love between the two peoples, in addition to conveying the beauty of Japanese nature.
