Syrian Embassy in Belarus participates in Minsk University celebration on World Arabic Language Day

Minsk, SANA- Syrian Embassy in Belarus held a photo exhibition which includes photos of the historical, cultural and tourist sites in Syria in addition to competitions in literature, poetry and Arabic calligraphy.

The Embassy’s activities came on the sidelines of the celebration held by Minsk State University of Languages, on the occasion of the World Arabic Language Day.

In his speech during the conclusion of the ceremony, Syria’s Ambassador in Minsk, Mohammad al-Omrani stressed the importanceو deep-rootedness and features of the Arabic language which made it as one of the richest languages and largely influenced the cultures of the world peoples.

Al-Omrani hailed Syria’s efforts to promote the Arabic language, through the establishment of the first Academy for the Arabic Language in 1919 and the Arabization of university curricula.

He appreciated Minsk State Language University’s role in communication between the Arab and Belarusian cultures which contributes in strengthening and developing the remarkable relations between the Arab countries and Belarus in general and Syria and Belarus in particular.
