Economy Minister and Indonesian Ambassador discus establishing joint investment projects

Damascus, SANA- Economy and Foreign Trade Minister Humam al-Jazaeri discussed on Sunday with Indonesian Ambassador in Damascus Djoko Harjanto ways to improve cooperation relations between the two countries in all fields, particularly in trade and economy.

The two sides reviewed the possibilities of enhancing trade exchange, establishing joint investment projects, participating in exhibitions, exchanging trade delegations visits, and supporting the private sector and activating its role by reforming the Syrian-Indonesian joint businessmen council.

The Minister pointed out that indications of the Syrian economy recovering are starting to appear, stressing the importance of benefiting from Indonesian experience in the field of empowering rural communities and supporting them to help improve the quality of life and achieve the economic welfare of people in rural areas.

For his part, Harjanto expressed his country’s support for Syria in the current crisis, calling for boosting cooperation prospects between Indonesia and Syria.
