Education Minister, UNOPS representative discuss prospects for cooperation

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Education, Dr. Mohammad Amer Mardini, discussed on Monday with Representative of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Amman, Mohammad Othman Akram, ways of enhancing and developing joint cooperation.

During the meeting, which was held at the building of Education Ministry in Damascus, the two sides discussed the reality of developing the educational process and cooperation in the fields of school rehabilitation and maintenance.

Minister Mardini highlighted the importance of continuing work on rehabilitating and maintaining schools and developing a joint action plan in this field.

He stressed the necessity of continuous training and qualification for teachers, especially for new cadres.

Meanwhile, the representative of the UN office drew attention to the organization’s interest in rehabilitating infrastructure, re-maintaining schools, and supporting educational and health projects.
