Syrian Plastic artists convey their country’s heritage through their paintings in an art exhibition in Muscat

Muscat, SANA- A group of Syrian plastic artists participated in the art exhibition currently held in the Omani capital Muscat under the title (Syrian plastic spaces), in which they presented ninety works of art reflecting the features of Syrian civilization and its rich heritage.

Ministry of Culture in the Sultanate organized the exhibition and it was opened Wednesday under the auspices of Sayyid Said Bin Sultan al Busaidy, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture in cooperation with the Syrian embassy in Oman.

In his speech during the opening of the exhibition, Idris Mia, Syrian ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, drew attention to what the Omani side provided to establish the exhibition, which included the presentation of an artistic painting representing the ancient city of Damascus as a gift from Minister of Culture Lubanah Mshaweh to the undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and youth in the Sultanate of Oman.

In a statement to SANA, ambassador Mia pointed to the importance of the exhibition, which is to promote cultural communication, provide a platform for artists to display their works, exchange ideas and experiences, and encourage artistic and creative dialogue, stressing that the paintings reflect the reality of life in Syria, and the keenness of Syrian artists to present a positive and bright image of their homeland, despite the challenges it has experienced.

The participating Syrian artists are Firas Radwan, Nidal Khwais, Sakha Junud, Youssef Al-Boushi, Nahed Ballan, Saed Salloum, Lubana Rabie, and Wassim Abdel Hamid,conveyed aesthetic details about Syria through their paintings.
