Syria wins 20 medals in West Asian Judo Championship

Amman, SANA-The Syrian national team won 20 medals in the West Asian Judo Championship, which concluded its competitions in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The gold medal was gained by the player Omar Al-Shahada, while the silver medals were gained by Ahmed Al-Qaed, Majd Haj Qaddour and Mohammed Hilal, and the bronze medal was gained by Yassin Saleh in the youth category.

In the junior category, the gold medals were gained by  Qusay Batman and Mahdi Ramadan, while the silver medals were gained by Ahmed Zidane and Jawad Masoud, and the bronze medals were gained by  Raed Al-Rahwan and Karam Allah Shakra.

In addition to that the players Malak Al Shaer, Reem Bazzazah, Rayan Qarqjia, Sandra Obeid won the gold medal, while Shahd Al Saad won the silver medal.

As for the young women category, Laila Kanaan won the gold medal, and Farah Al Qantar won the silver medal.

In the Kata competitions, two gold medals were gained by  Raed Al-Rahwan and Sandra Obaid.

It is noteworthy that nine countries participated in the championship which includes Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

In the same context, the General Sports Federation honored on Wednesday the players who won medals in the aforementioned championship and urged them to exert more effort to achieve good results in the upcoming championship.
