Defense Minister meets his Iranian counterpart, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh

Damascus, SANA – General Ali Mahmoud Abbas, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces – Minister of Defense, met Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, Iranian Minister of Defense.
A reception ceremony was held at Defense Ministry building after the national anthems of the two friendly countries were played.

Then bilateral talks were held between the two sides, during which the latest developments in the region, and the joint cooperation prospects were reviewed.

In the same context, General Abdul Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces, met the Iranian Defense Minister and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides held talks about developing aspects of cooperation between the two armies, especially in the field of training and exchanging expertise in combating terrorism.
