National initiative in Damascus Countryside to comabat children begging

 

Damascus Countryside, SANA- Association A Better Life for Syrian Children held in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs, My Friend in my Crisis national initiative at Baider Nader Area in Damascus Countryside.

The initiative calls for guiding the children for their right places to be, for playing, learning, warning of their existing at streets.

“My Friend in my Crisis is a national initiative aimes at attracting and guiding the children to the healthy places to practice their activities’,Minister of Social Affairs Kinda al-Shammat told SANA Saturda

Terrorist organizations work for recruiting them, depriving them from education and destroying their schools and future, while the Syrian government, in cooperation with the civil society, work for restoring them and improving their living conditions, She added.

The initiative included theatrical shows for children, folkloric dance and national songs.

Asserting that this activity is a part of a sustainable plan, the Minister asserted that the government would not allow recruiting of the Syrian children by anybody and engaging them in areas of conflict.

Director of the Association, Haiat Saad, in turn, said that the initiative aims at offering health and social services for the children through offering various artistic activities in order to enhance the social values, mainly amity, cooperation and coexistence among them.

More than 200 children participated in the initiative in presence of representatives of the UN, UN Population Fund, the WHO and the Syrian Family Planning Association.

The Better Life for Syrian Children Association started activities in 2014 in cooperation with the Ministry of social Affairs and Labor and a number of international organizations.
