Rallycross 2014 Championship kicks off in Damascus countryside

Damascus Countryside, SANA – The championship of Rallycross on Friday kicked off on a dirt track in al-Sabboura area in Damascus countryside with a wide participation of the most distinguished Syrian contestants.

The championship was organized by the Ministry of Tourism on the occasion of the world Tourism Day in cooperation with the Syrian Automobile Club (SAC).

The championship is the first of its kind as it opens the door wide for professional racers to return to the competitions and allows the amateurs to participate in the races which are being held in a closed circuit with specially-equipped cars.

Syrian racer Ahmad Kriazan ranked first in the differentiation round with a time of 2:6:80 while racer Mohammad Kriazan who is participating in an official championship for the first time ranked second and Ahmad Hamshou ranked third.

The SAC team has exerted great efforts to prepare the racetrack.
