Education Minister inspects locations of terrorist attacks on schools in Homs

Homs, SANA – Minister of Education Dr. Hazwan al-Wazz on Friday inspected the two schools which were targeted by terrorist bombings in Ikrima Neighborhood in Homs.

The bombings claimed the lives of 32 civilians and injured 115, most of them children, and many of the injuries were critical.

Al-Wazz said althought the attacks caused grave suffering, they will not dissuade the Syrians from continuing their lives and pursuing education, adding that the Syrians are fighting this war in defense of humanity and to prevent such tragedies from taking place in the future.

He said the terrorist war against Syria has claimed the lives of over 800 teachers or students, hailing the efforts exerted by the educational staff in Homs to preserve and improve the teaching method and level.

For his part, Governor of Homs Talal al-Barazi said maintenance teams have started work to repair the two schools so that students can return to them as soon as possible.

Al-Wazz, al-Barazi and member of the Regional Leadership of the Arab Socialist al-Baath Party Abdul-Mouti Mishleb offered their sincerest condolences to the families of the victims.
