PM highlights Syria’s unremitting efforts to meet requirements of educational process

Damascus, SANA – A national workshop on curriculum requirements, organized by the ministries of Education and Higher Education in cooperation with the Center for Educational Research and Development in Lebanon, launched its activities on Tuesday in the presence of Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi.

Delivering a speech at the opening of the workshop, held at the Faculty of Education of Damascus University, Premier al-Halqi stressed the importance of such activities in establishing the foundation for an educational standards-based culture and preparing and qualifying teaching cadres according to these standards.

He highlighted the recent remarkable development in the educational process and the need for this process in the country to keep pace with the technological advancements.

The development and utilization of the knowledge-producing human resources lie at the heart of determining the future of people, al-Halqi stressed.

In this context, he underlined Syria’s unremitting efforts to improve the education sector and meet all the requirements of the educational process in order to cope with all the challenges facing the country under the current crisis.

The workshop, which lasts till October 16th, aims at training teachers in line with education standards and upgrading the teaching strategies and educational evaluation, in addition to boosting cooperation among the bodies associated with education to achieve that end.

Several academic researches for experts from Syria, Egypt and Lebanon and specialized field workshops on languages, Humanities and social sciences and basic sciences will be reviewed in the course of the workshop.
