Sousan: Syria’s future is an exclusive right for its people

Damascus, SANA- Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan met on Monday a delegation of Syrian expatriates in Armenia and a number of the Armenian economic figures.

Sousan briefed the delegation on the developments in Syria, indicating that the heroism and steadfastness of the Syrian people and the armed forces in the fight against terrorism will remain a model for all the free peoples who defend their dignity and sovereignty.

Sousan reaffirmed the Syrian people’s steadfastness to eradicate terrorism and restore security and stability to every inch of the Syrian soil, stressing that the future of Syria is an exclusive right determined by the Syrians themselves.

Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister emphasized that terrorism supporters will not achieve in politics what they failed to achieve on the ground.

Sousan expressed Syria’s high appreciation for the national stances of the Syrian expatriates and their solidarity with their country, calling on them to contribute to rebuilding what had been destroyed by terrorism.

For their part, the members of the delegation reiterated determination to devote all potential to enhance the homeland’s steadfastness, achieve final victory on terrorism and rebuild the country.

The members of the Armenian delegation expressed desire to back the efforts of the Syrian government in the reconstruction process on the basis of historical relations binding the Syrian and Armenian peoples.

Speaking to SANA, head of the Syrian community in Armenia, Dr. George Barslian said that the Syrian expatriates are an integral part of the Syrian fabric and they will provide all the support in order to make Syria more beautiful than it was before.

The delegation comprises a number of businessmen who are willing to establish investments in Syria in the power, electricity, and construction sectors, Barslian said, adding that a large number of Syrians in Armenia were forced to leave their country due to terrorist acts over the years of war against their country.
