Syrian ports closed due to bad weather conditions

Lattakia, SANA- The General Directorate for Ports on Tuesday announced that all ports on the Syrian coast were closed for maritime navigation due to the prevailing weather conditions.

Head of Ports General Directorate Gen. Akram Ibrahim told SANA’s reporter that the ports of Lattakia and Tartous, the oil drain of Banias Refinery and the small ports were closed due to the bad weather conditions.

Ibrahim added that the Eastern Mediterranean region is hit by a storm as the wind speed is expected to reach up to 80-100 km per hour and the sea waves will reach more than 5 meters in height.

He indicated that all the required measures have been taken and all cadres are put in a state of alert to minimize any losses that may result from the storm.
