Quneitra, SANA – Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) Mohammad Abdelsattar al-Sayyed said that the war on Syria seeks to blemish the true image of moderate Islam, lauding the role of Muslim religious figures in raising awareness about the threats of extremism.
Meeting official and civil figures in Quneitra province on Monday, al-Sayyed said that his Ministry is working to reveal the truth about the terms that the enemies of Syria, Arabism, and Islam were promoting during the crisis.
He said that the crisis in Syria disguised itself in the cloak of religion to tear down Syria from within by distorting Islam and inciting strife, but Syrians managed to repel this conspiracy thanks to their awareness and faith.
