Hasaka province produces about 20 thousand tons of medicinal, aromatic crops

Hasaka, SANA-The production of the areas cultivated with medicinal and aromatic crops in Hasaka province has reached up to 20 thousand tons of various species.

Director of Hasaka Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Rajab Salameh stated in a statement to SANA reporter, that the province production of these crops was good for the current season, as the production of areas cultivated with cumin crop reached up to 10,480 tons, with an average production of 800 kg per hectare.

He added that the production of the areas cultivated with coriander reached 7,189 tons with a production average of 1,100 kg per hectare while the production of the areas cultivated with black seed amounted to 1,850 tons with an average production of 1000 kg per hectare.

Salameh pointed out that farmers are currently marketing their production in the local markets in light of the presence of a good retail market and encouraging prices that vary according to the quality of the crops

It is noteworthy that the areas cultivated with medicinal and aromatic crops for the current season reached up to 24 thousand hectares distributed over various areas of agricultural stability.
