Damascus, SANA Illegal or unregistered social statuses among families residing in makeshift centers due to the armed terrorist organizations’ attacks are to be regulated within a memo of understanding signed by Ministry of Justice and Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs.
The MoU stipulates for cooperation between the two sides through adopting the required procedures for settling illegal marital statuses and unregistered marriages or births in the Civil Status and Registration Office and other cases that occur as a result of the crisis.
In view of the MoU, the Commission will notify the Justice Ministry in the cases occurring among the displaced families in the makeshift centers, as the Ministry will settle the legal statuses of the citizens and families in the concerned courts and the Civil Status and Registration Office.
Deputy Justice Minister Sahar Akkash stressed that the Ministry works, in cooperation with Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs, on documenting and settling all illegal marital and social cases that constitute a threat to the Syrian family and the society in general.
For her part, Chairwoman of the Commission Hadil al-Asmar stressed that the Commission is fulfilling its tasks in monitoring the families affected and those in need for help, clarifying that through the visits paid to makeshift centers in the provinces of Lattakia and Tartous some cases of unregistered births were detected and the Commission is going to look into them.
