Ala: UNHRC must replace approach of confrontation and polarization with dialogue and cooperation

Geneva, SANA- Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva Hussam Eddin Ala affirmed that Syria strongly rejects the mandate of the Commission of Inquiry and its false reports, and calls for ending this politicized mandate.

Ala said during a session of the United  Nation Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Friday that the Commission of Inquiry’s report adopts misleading about the situation in Syria, and ignores great challenges which the country has been facing as a result of the terrorist war against it.

He made it clear that after years of promoting unilateral reports full of politicization and professional failure and imposing resolutions that do not reflect the reality of the situation in Syria, it is time for the Human Rights Council to act responsibly and adopt constructive dialogue.

Ala added that the UNHRC must replace the approach of confrontation and polarization to serve the Western interests with the approach of dialogue and constructive cooperation so that it can recover its role and credibility far from selectivity and double standards.

Ala said that “After 11 years of war, terrorism and military and economic aggression with the support of the United States and its allies, the UN reports and the statements of some countries in this council still echo stories disconnected from reality and reflect a determination to continue with the failed interventionist agendas that were the main cause of the suffering of the Syrians and the violation of their basic rights.”
