Russian Defense: 188 people evacuated from southern Ukraine to Russia

Moscow, SANA- Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Friday the evacuation of 188 people from Kherson province in southern Ukraine to Russia.

“Last day, soldiers of the Southern Military District organized a safe transfer of 188 people from several regions on Kherson province of Ukraine to Russian territory,” the ministry said in a statement, reported by TASS.

Russian military personnel in the central square of Kherson city organized an evacuation operation for everyone who wanted to leave the areas of the special military operation in buses and convoys of private cars, and then secured them when moving to Russian territory, according to a statement by the Ministry of Defense.

The evacuation was carried out in response to requests from foreign embassies to help ensure the safe transfer of their citizens from Ukraine territory, as well as on the requests of local residents submitted to the office of the Russian military commander in Kherson.

In total, more than 600 foreign citizens have been transferred from the Ukrainian province of Kherson to Crimea since the beginning of the special military operation.
