Moscow hopes draft resolution on preventing the financing of terrorism would be approved

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Ministry affirmed Thursday that Moscow hopes the draft resolution it has submitted to the UN on preventing the financing of terrorist organizations, whether directly or indirectly, would be approved by the Security Council.

“The draft resolution, submitted by Moscow, is concerned in combating the terrorist organizations, particularly the illegal practices of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and Jabhat al-Nusra who steal oil and archeological pieces from Syria and Iraq,” Alexander Lukashevich, Spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry said in an answer to SANA question.

He hoped the draft resolution would be approved to be an additional means to stop the illegal bargains with those terrorist organizations.

Lukashevich warned that the oil illegitimate trafficking would contribute, to a great deal, to boosting the finical capabilities of the terrorist organizations.

Bogdanov, Ušackas discuss crisis in Syria 

Meanwhile, Special representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and North Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed with Vygaudas Ušackas, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Russia means to solve the crisis in Syria.

The Russian foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two sides reviewed the outcomes of Moscow consultative meetings which were held last month between the Syrian government delegation and opposition figures.
