Health Ministry: Syria is free of monkey pox

Damascus, SANA- Ministry of Health said that Syria is free of monkey pox disease at present.

The transmission of the disease is lower than Covid-19 and other infectious diseases such as polio, measles, and others, the Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

The health sector is in emergency preparedness by circulating the precautionary measures that must be taken by the early monitoring and epidemiological investigation teams in all provinces and health workers at border crossings, the statement added.

The Ministry called on citizens not to believe rumors and false information, and to obtain information exclusively from the platforms of the Ministry of Health and national media outlets.
