For 75th consecutive day, the suffering of Hasaka citizens continues as Turkish occupier still cuts off water

Hasaka, SANA-The Turkish occupier and its mercenaries in the occupied city of Ras al-Ain, north of Hasaka province, continue their crime of suspending the Allouk water station from working for the 75th consecutive day and depriving nearly one million citizens of the only water source.

Unremitting efforts of the Water Establishment in Hasaka and the humanitarian organizations supporting it to secure the people’s need of clean drinkable water.

Director of Water Establishment in Hasaka, Mahmoud Ukla, told SANA reporter that the Allouk water station is still completely suspended due to the missile attacks on it by the Turkish occupier and its mercenaries, in parallel with their continued theft of the electricity cables that feed it, and consequently the suffering of the people continues to secure drinking water because the station is the only source of water for them.

the Establishment is working to secure part of the people’s drinking water needs through temporary alternatives, “Ukla added.

For his part, the head of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch, Ali Mansour, said that efforts to respond to the people’s need for water are continuing, as the Red Crescent branch, with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Action Against Hunger, provides the neighborhoods of Hasaka city with drinkable water by filling 400 tanks with a capacity of 5 cubic meters each. In addition to 50 tanks located in the shelters.

Citizens of Hasaka appealed to the UN bodies and international organizations to adopt a clear stance towards the war crime committed by the Turkish occupier and its terrorist groups, stressing the need to hold the Turkish regime accountable for this crime, which contradicts with the United Nations Charter and the need for clean and sterile water to limit the spread of the disease.
