CIS Summit kicks off in Astana

Astana, SANA- Commonwealth of Independent States CIS heads of state summit kicked off in the Kazakh capital, Astana, in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the RT website, the President of Turkmenistan, the President of Azerbaijan, the Armenian Prime Minister, the President of Uzbekistan, the President of Kyrgyzstan, the President of Belarus and the President of Tajikistan will participate in the summit.

At the opening of the summit, the Kazakh president said that this summit, which is being held in its regular session, will have on its agenda a number of important issues, most notably humanitarian issues as well as security and strengthening cooperation among the member states of the organization.
