EU amends restrictive measures imposed on Syria to facilitate delivery of humanitarian aid

Brussels, SANA-The Council of the European Union issued a resolution amending one of the restrictive measures imposed on Syria for six months under the pretext of facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid due to the aggravation of the crisis in Syria after the earthquake hit the country.

According to the amendment, which was published on the website of the EU, humanitarian organizations no longer need to obtain prior permission from the competent authorities in the EU Member States to carry out transfers or provide goods and services intended for humanitarian purposes to the individuals and entities included in the list.

Over many years, Western coercive measures caused suffering to the Syrians in all aspects of life as this suffering had has exacerbated after the earthquake, which claimed the lives of hundreds of victims and injured others ,in addition to causing great damage to homes and infrastructure.
