During a press conference held in Damascus on Monday, Perincek said the Syrian people and President have been fighting not merely in defense of Syria but also in defense of humanity in face of terrorism and its funders and sponsors.

We are here and we tell the US and its allies that we will not allow any force to destroy Syria or fragment it, or destroy the republic system of Turkey, he highlighted, calling upon all of the region’s countries to join efforts in the battle against terrorism.
He stressed that the majority of the Turkish people are friends of Syria and reject terrorism and destabilization in it as it will affect Turkey, adding that the Turkish people are against any political leadership that deals with terrorists.

Perincek called upon regional countries for unifying their ranks and enhancing peaceful cooperation in fighting the criminal projects and confronting terrorism.

We want to live in a secular political and democratic system that respects everyone, he confirmed.

What is going on is a precious opportunity for the peoples of the region for unifying their stances and boosting their powers to face the foreign schemes through the establishment of the Five Seas project among Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine as the project will serve the political, economic, security and social interests of these countries and establish safety, freedom, democracy and respect among them and their peoples, the Turkish politician said.
On a question over the position of the Turkish people towards the hostile policy of the government of the Justice and Development Party towards Syria and Its people, Perincek said the overwhelming majority of the Turkish people are friends of Syria and they reject terrorism and aware that any destabilization of Syria will affect Turkey.

He underlined that hundred thousands of Turkish people took to the streets in a large demonstration in Ankara and Istanbul, expressing rejection of their government’s policies.

The Turkish official asserted Our people do not agree with a political leadership which deals with terrorists and creates terrorism.

For his part, former Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Abdullatif Sener said No one, especially foreign people, have the right to carry weapons and enter a country to change its regime, as it is illegal, and no one has the right to interfere in the internal affairs of any country.

Sener called on the international organizations, mainly the UN, to respect the international law and resolutions which the countries have approved, otherwise they are part of the terrorist operations that are taking place.

Those who claim that they represent democracy and freedom should fight terrorism, Member of Parliament for the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Birgul Ayman Guler said, calling on the colonial powers to lift their hands off the Syrian people to be able to determine their own fate, promising to offer all support to the Syrian people.
