Syria, Russia sign an agreement on enhancing cooperation on field of oversight work

Moscow, SANA- On the sidelines of the 26th ST. Petersburg International Economic Forum held in Russia with participation of the Syrian delegation headed by Minister of Financial, Dr. Kenan Yaghi, the Central organization of Financial control of Syria (COFC)signed a joint cooperation agreement with Russian Accounts Chamber.

The agreement aimed at strengthening and developing prospects of Syrian-Russian cooperation in the field of oversight work and exchange of expertise and knowledge.

The delegation also participated at “Global Financial Risks and New Challenges of External Audit” session of the forum and other specialized meetings.

During the aforementioned session, head of the central organization, Muhammad Barq, talked about the issue of information technology control, and how to benefit from information technology in monitoring work, as the whole world is now moving towards digitization and relying on technical programs in organizing financial and accounting business.

The delegation also held meetings with representatives of oversight bodies participating in the forum, as they discussed with the Belarusian and Iranian delegations several issues related to oversight work, means to develop it, prospects for cooperation and joint coordination, enhancing role of oversight agencies in protecting public money.
