Syria participates in 6th India-Arab Partnership Conference

New Delhi, SANA- The activities of the 6th Indian-Arab Partnership Conference kicked off Tuesday in the Indian capital, New Delhi, with participation of Syria and representatives of most Arab countries and major Indian companies operating in them.

The Conference is held in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Arab League and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Shri V. Muraleedharan stressed importance of the relations between India and the Arab world, stressing New Delhi keenness to strengthen relations of cooperation and friendship with all Arab countries to serve the interest of the peoples of the region.

The Syrian delegation, encompasses Head of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, Dr. Fadi al-Khalil, the Syrian ambassador to India, Dr. Bassam al-Khatib, and his deputy, Mrs. Manal Qaddoura.

The Syrian delegation held meetings with a large number of Arab ambassadors, the ambassador of the Arab League in India, and advanced Indian companies wishing to invest in Syria.

Dr. Al-Khalil called on representatives of Indian companies to visit Syria and benefit from the investment opportunities available there, especially for friendly countries, including India, which has maintained good relations with Syria in all fields.

Talks also dealt with the need to enhance joint cooperation and increase joint investments between India and the Arab countries.

Earlier, the Indian Minister affirmed that his country is looking forward to establishing strong relations with Syria and strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The 2-day conference will also deal with investment opportunities in different sectors in India and the Arab world.
