Traditional handicrafts exhibitions opened in Khan Asaad Basha in Damascus

Damascus, SANA – An exhibition for traditional oriental handicrafts and products opened on Tuesday in the historical Khan Asaad Basha in the Old City in Damascus, organized by the Artisan Association for Oriental Handicrafts with the participation of 25 craftsmen and artisans.

The two-day exhibitions features woodwork, copper work, pottery, mosaics, textiles, marble works, oriental musical instruments like the oud and the qanun, and traditional Arab calligraphy, among other crafts.

Head of the Artisan Association Fouad Arbash said that this exhibition seeks to showcase the deep-rooted crafts of Damascus and the creativity of its craftsmen and artisans.

The Artisan Association for Oriental Handicrafts specializes in traditional oriental handicrafts, covering 35 crafts and including around 120 members. It also helps export traditional handicrafts to many countries.
