Syria’s Noura Baddour wins silver in 6th FAZAA International Athletics Competition

Abu Dhabi, SANA- The Syrian national team member Noura Baddour won on Sunday the silver medal in the 41 kg event in weightlifting at the 6th FAZAA International Athletics Competition in UAE.

Noura managed to lift 85 kg, while the gold medal went to Egyptian athlete Nawal Ramadan who lifted 94 kg. The bronze medal went to Ukrainian athlete Marima Kobica after she lifted 80kg.

The events of the competition will continue in Dubai until next Wednesday with the participation of more than 130 athletes representing 25 countries.

The Syrian national team includes the athletes Shadi Issa, Rasha al- Sheikh , Natali Elias, Noura Baddour, and Fatima Hasan who are under the supervision of coach Fadi Fahham.

The teams that achieve good results in this events will qualify for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
