Mikdad, Wang Di: Coordinating stances regarding regional and international developments

Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, received on Monday Mr. Wang Di, Director of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

 The two sides appreciated the important visit paid by President Bashar al-Assad to the People’s Republic of China and the important agreements reached between the leadership of the two countries, the most important of which is the declaration of strategic partnership. They stressed the necessity of following up and implementing everything that was agreed upon during that historic visit.

Mikdad and Di discussed the situation in Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories and the barbaric Israeli aggression against civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.

Di affirmed China’s firm stance on the Palestinian issue and its solidarity with the Palestinian people, calling for an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to save children, women and the wounded.

In turn, Minister Mikdad expressed his appreciation for China’s stance in support of regional issues, its support for Syria and its continued assistance to it.

He also affirmed Syria’s firm position in support of the “One China” principle represented by its territorial integrity, and its support for China against all attempts of interference in its domestic affairs.
