One in three children under two in Gaza acutely malnourished, says UNRWA

Geneva, SANA- The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) revealed that one in three children under the age of two in Gaza Strip are “now acutely malnourished, and famine is looming.

“Children’s malnutrition is spreading fast and reaching unprecedented levels in Gaza,” Reuters quoted the UNRWA as saying in a social media post.

Hospitals in Gaza have reported some children dying of malnutrition and dehydration.

The reports indicate that more than five months of Israeli occupation aggression, much of the Gaza Strip is in ruins with most of its 2.3 million population displaced and facing a major humanitarian crisis.
