Lebanese Caretaker Minister of the Displaced: Unjust siege on Syria hinders return of the displaced

Beirut, SANA – Lebanese Caretaker Minister of the Displaced Issam Sharafeddine, stressed that the unjust Western blockade imposed on Syria is the obstacle to the return of displaced people to their country.

The failure of external parties to find a solution for the displaced Syrians shows the correctness of settling this file in coordination with the Syrian state, Sputnik Radio quoted Issam Sharafeddine as saying in an interview.

Sharafeddine considers that the reason for the delay in ending the file of the displaced in Lebanon is due to hurdles by the Western countries and international organizations, confirming that the Syrian side showed its full readiness to resolve this issue.

The Lebanese Minister stated that the main problem in this file lies in the refusal of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees(UNHCR) to hand over the data of the displaced people in Lebanon to the Lebanese government, pointing out that European promises regarding this file are untrustworthy.
