Syria is a step closer to Asian Cup finals after beating India in qualifiers

Dhaka, SANA – Syria’s Olympic football team has come closer to secure a place in the finals of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup to be held next January after beating its Indian counterpart 4-0 in a match held Sunday in Bangladesh.

With this win, the Syrian team was ranked first in Group 5 with 6 points, while Uzbekistani team came second with 3 points.

India and Bangladesh teams are in the third and fourth places, respectively.

At the beginning of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, the Syrian team beat the Bangladeshi team 4-0, and is scheduled to play Uzbekistan in its final match in the qualifiers next Tuesday.

The teams which lead the ten groups, along with the top five teams of those that come in the second place, qualify for the finals.
