People’s Assembly discusses performance of health and tourism ministries

Damascus, SANA- The People’s Assembly on Thursday listened to the answers of Health and Tourism ministers to queries by PMs on issues related to the performance of both ministries and the procedures to improve the services in public hospitals and efforts to improve the tourist sector.

The queries of the MPs focused on the importance of taking efficient procedures to enhance health services in public hospitals, health centers and dispensaries in addition to adopting measures to combat contagious diseases and protect archeological sites from theft and destruction by armed terrorist organizations.

Health Minister Dr. Nizar Yazigi addressed queries posed by members of the People’s Assembly, saying that the ministry is facing some difficulties in offering the drugs of chronic and cancer diseases due to the unjust economic sanctions imposed on the Syria people.

The minister pointed out that the ministry is continuously sending medicine packages to all areas and provinces, noting that hepatitis disease in Syria is only “media propaganda.”
He indicated that infections in some areas are “no cause for concern.”

For his part, Tourism Minister Bisher Yazigi said that ministry is working to activate religious tourism to assume its role in supporting state budget with necessary resources.

The Minister added that ministry will launch tourism investment gatherings in all provinces focusing on medium and small-sized projects to revitalize national economy.
