CBS raises quantity of currency payment for exporters to USD 100,000

Damascus, SANA – The Central Bank of Syria (CBS) on Monday raised the quantity of currency payment for the export currency transfer bill to USD 100,000 instead of 50,000 USD or what equals this amount in other foreign currencies.

At a meeting headed by Governor of the CBS Adeb Mayaleh with a number of chairmen of banks operating in Syria to discuss measures to boost exports, the Bank approved a group of amendments concerning the price of the exporting transfer.

“The CBS is also raising the amount allocated to funding imports as to control the exchange price of foreign currencies and reduce the importers’ relying on the black market,” Mayaleh said.
