Syrian short film “Smile…You’re Dying” in Oran festival

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian short film “Smile…You’re Dying” will participate in the 8th edition of the International Festival for Arab Films to be held in the Algerian city of Oran from June 3 to 12.

The film embodies an attempt to reflect the Syrian reality using the story of a photographer as a gate to enter into the situation of the country which is passing through exceptional circumstances.

The events of the film move from the private to the public through a psychological drama whose personalities pass through various transformations.

The film is the fruit of the third cinematic cooperation between director Wasim al-Sayyed and writer Ali Wajih whose previous works harvested several international awards.

“Smile…You’re Dying” achieved a significant presence at the French Corner of Cannes International Film Festival 2015 “short films category” and in Khatwat “Steps” Film Festival in Lattakia in 2015.

Actors Mohnad Qutaish, Housam Tahsin Beik, Ronzena al-Lazkani, Rana Risha and others are participating in the film.
